Kuranda Seyit is the founder and director of FAIR or the Forum on Australia's Islamic Relations. He has completed his MA in Peace and Conflict Studies at Sydney University and has a BA/Dip Ed from Macquarie University. After working as a police officer for the NSW police force for several years, he decided to travel along the famed Silk Road where he experienced a life changing journey, giving him new insights to his own spirituality and faith. Whilst in India, he decided that he wanted to chance a new career in making films and documentaries. In 2001 he wrote and directed his first documentary called Always a Visitor for SBS television. He is now working on building more peace in the world. In 2002 he founded, together with a Jew and a Christian the Goodness and Kindness Project. In 2003 he was selected for the SMART 100 by the Bulletin Magazine for their special annual issue. Currently he is researching several documentary projects and regularly performs esoteric poetry recitals, particularly the poetry of Rumi.
